A True Connection

I am always on a quest to find that special something that connects L’Atelier, you and I together. When discussion started last spring with Jan Hurwitz and Sharon Brant about the possibility of an exclusively Rowan retreat, I have to admit, I got really excited.

After months of careful back and forth, and a few of you weighing in on the prospect of an all Rowan Retreat,  we decided to make it happen. Rowan offered the great talents of Arne & Carlos, Lisa Richardson and Sharon Brant. As the plans began to form, they also got excited and Sharon decided to bring Dee Hardwicke back to Redondo Beach as well. The line up of talent gives us the opportunity to offer a series of classes tailored to you our L’Atelier clients.

Many are asking why must I stay at the hotel, can’t I commute. The reason is that in order to make this happen we have to partner with a hotel that can give us the luxury, the good food, and meeting and class space that is conducive to the more intimate approach we are taking for this event.

We want small groups who can knit and meet with the Rowan Stars, sip a glass a wine and unwind. Or go back to your room, put on your jammies and review the day, your beautiful yarns and the experience of what knitting can truly be. Long ago I realized that when we do shows in our backyard, they are never as fulfilling as the ones faraway and that is because when we go home every night, the spell is broken and regular everyday seeps in. Staying at the venue, might even allow me a bubble bath.

We also want to include our extensive family of clients who are voices on the phone to us. We have friends who have been placing orders and talking to us for over 35 years. We started the club in 1985 and from that date we have many friends we have never met. We want the chance to put faces with those voices.

And finally, the first Rowan Retailer event in April of 2018 made me a believer. The breadth of product, design talent and now the launch of the new Mode line energized me in new ways. I wanted to bring that delight and adrenaline rush to you. I wanted a chance to give you what this fabulous company gave me. In this world of immediacy I want to give you a chance to unwind and indulge your passion.
